Habitat Assessments for Threatened & Endangered Species
A habitat assessment for threatened or endangered species is a site-specific study that evaluates whether suitable habitat exists for any species listed as threatened, endangered, or of special concern under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) or relevant state laws. It’s often one of the first steps in environmental review and permitting, especially for development, infrastructure, or land-altering activities.
Preliminary & Approved Jurisdiction Determinations | Env. Permitting 401/404
A Preliminary Jurisdictional Determination (PJD) and an Approved Jurisdictional Determination (AJD) are formal documents issued by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to identify whether wetlands, streams, or other waters on a property are subject to regulation under the Clean Water Act (Section 404) or the Rivers and Harbors Act (Section 10).
Wetland, Stream, Coastal, & Normal High Water Delineations
Wetland, stream, coastal, and normal high water delineations are required when a proposed project may impact jurisdictional waters or wetlands. These delineations determine the location and extent of regulated aquatic resources, which is critical for determining permitting needs and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and sometimes local environmental regulations.
Tree Surveys
This type of survey is often required by local planning authorities before they will approve permits for construction, especially in areas with environmental protections or tree preservation ordinances.
Aerial Drone Photography
Aerial drone photography involves capturing images or video from the air using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), commonly known as a drone. Equipped with high- resolution cameras and GPS technology, drones can fly over a site and provide detailed, bird’s eye views of landscapes, buildings, infrastructure, or environmental features.
